Delivery Segment Leads Recovery Path of Blue-collar Jobs: Placement firm Vahan

According to Vahan, a start-up placement firm, the industry is witnessing a sharp recovery led by the delivery segment, including food and grocery. This comes in as good news after the overall dip in blue collar jobs due to the coronavirus induced lockdown.

As per a PTI report, in the food and grocery delivery segment, the demand for blue-collar workers is back to 100 per cent of pre-COVID-19 levels. The delivery sector is currently creating 2.5 lakh-3 lakh delivery jobs every month.

Quoting data from Vahan’s app, the company says that hiring has sprung from the delivery segment followed by manufacturing, ancillary and BPO sectors.

Vahan Co-founder and CEO Madhav Krishna said, “Demand for blue-collar jobs, which saw an overall dip during the covid lockdown, has witnessed sharp recovery led by the delivery segment which includes food as well as grocery delivery. This trend points to growing consumer optimism in India about economic recovery amid the pandemic.
